Latisse
Latisse® – the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.
Latisse is a staff favorite! It is a prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, darker and thicker. The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatoprost. Originally, Bimatoprost was used in the treatment of glaucoma. Glaucoma patients using bimatoprost noticed an increase in eyelash growth and thickness. During clinical trials of the product researchers discovered the amplified growth and volume of eyelashes occured because the duration of the anagen (growth) phase and the percent of hairs in the growth phase increased.
The application process is very simple and Latisse only needs to be applied once-a-day. Most patients begin to see increased length in 4 weeks with full results after 16 weeks. 25% LONGER — 106% FULLER — 18% DARKER
There are few side effects with Latisse. Only 4% of tested individuals had redness of the eye or an itching sensation. Typically these irritations resolve once the patient becomes accustomed to the product. The only patients that should avoid Latisse are those with allergies to the product. Individuals with increased intraocular pressure need to discuss Latisse with their eye doctor before initiating treatment.
