Guido P. Gutter, M.D., is a professionally and academically accomplished board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, with 25 years of clinical experience, and continual certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Professor Gutter completed his medical school training at the prestigious University of Zurich, Switzerland, followed by a complete residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Gutter then completed a residency in Plastic Surgery at Duke University, followed by a hand fellowship at the internationally known Kleinert, Kutz and Associates Hand Care Center in Louisville where over 1,000 surgeons from 50 countries have been trained. Surgeons at Kleinert and Kutz have performed the world’s first successful hand transplant among other prestigious accomplishments. He furthered his training with a one-year fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery at the Bellevue Clinic for Aesthetic Surgery in Zurich, Switzerland. Thereafter, Dr. Gutter joined the faculty at Duke University as Clinical Assistant Professor and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Durham Regional Hospital, where he had the honor of training future plastic surgeons the art and expertise of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Gutter is a member of many regional and national medical societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
