Vaginal Restoration

Vaginal Restoration, also known as Vaginoplasty or Vaginal Rejuvenation, is a surgical procedure which involves reshaping a woman’s vagina.

Childbirth, especially after multiple children, or aging causes vaginal relaxation resulting in diminished strength and tone of the vaginal muscles.  Many times a woman may elect to have a vaginoplasty to repair a poorly healed episotomy incision from childbirth.  Other women choose to reshape their vagina for simply cosmetic reasons.

Vaginal Restoration Procedure

Vaginoplasty is a general term covering several types of vaginal reconstructive surgery.  The exact procedure can only be determined by examination during a confidential consultation.  Although vaginal restoration procedures are becoming increasing popular, our office understands the personal nature of such procedures.

Vaginoplasty surgery is done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The operation typically takes about 1 hour. Although, you can usually return to work 6 to 7 days after surgery, all feminine hygiene products and sexual intercourse must be avoided for 4-6 weeks.
