Laser Hair Removal

The Best of Both Worlds
The Elite removes unwanted hair with unsurpassed efficacy and client comfort. That's because its revolutionary technology combines two optimal wavelengths in one system: the 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser.
Since we can switch between wavelengths during a single procedure, we can select for you the most appropriate laser for any given hair or skin type. We can also perform multiple procedures on the same visit.

Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking, electrolysis, waxing and depilatory creams generally provide only temporary relief and can be very irritating to the skin. Laser systems used to reduce hair growth have become the modern gold standard technique for hair removal. The laser emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. The skin is protected during treatment by a cooling device which also provides increased comfort. Facial areas such as the upper lip and sideburns, bikini area, upper and lower legs, arms, chest, and back may be treated leaving skin smooth, stubble free and without the irritation of ingrown hairs.

Because hair grows in cycles, a minimum of three treatments will be necessary, as the process is most effective on hair during the early growth cycle. After each session, you will see some visible hair reduction. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin color and coarseness of the hair. Repeat sessions will be necessary to treat the follicles when they re-enter the early growth phase. Re-growth in between treatments will also come in thinner and finer.
For very sensitive skin types, a test area may be treated prior to the full treatment. If you have had a history of cold sores, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed before a treatment of the upper lip. You may be advised to avoid vitamin E, aspirin and any blood thinning substances for a minimum of one week before and after treatment. Client safety is paramount to the Medical Cosmetic Center philosophy, and every effort is taken to ensure clinical excellence. The risks from hair reduction laser treatments are most often related to the expertise of the physician. Minor complications may include inflammation, temporary blistering, scabbing, discoloration, and pigmentation irregularities. Darker skin types have an increased risk for skin darkening or lightening. Other risks associated with any procedure include infection, mild scarring, and delayed healing. These will be explained in depth in advance of undergoing the procedure.
