Brow Lift

We all age differently, but drooping eyebrows are of one the most common, most visible signs of the effects of time. When the brow drops, it tends to make the upper eyelids appear heavy and redundant, leading to a tired or saddened appearance. Often patients complain that their upper lids look "saggy" and they think they need an eyelid lift, but in fact they may actually require a browlift.  A brow lift – sometimes called a forehead lift – can help minimize the furrows, frown lines and drooping forehead, creating a more animated, youthful and alert look. A brow lift is often performed in conjunction with a facelift or upper eyelid surgery for better longer lasting results.

Candidates include men and women, usually in their late thirties to sixties who have visible effects of aging. People with inherited conditions, such as a droopy brow or furrowed lines above the nose, also benefit from this procedure. The procedure involves an incision, hidden in the hairline above the forehead. The skin of the forehead is lifted and the muscles and excess skin responsible are then removed or altered. A brow lift is performed as an outpatient procedure, takes 2-3 hours depending on the technique used, and is done under general anesthesia.
