Vaginal Restoration

Another widely accepted surgical procedure, and one embraced by more and more women with children, is vaginoplasty. An enlarged vagina is frequently a problem after childbirth, especially after multiple children or the difficult vaginal delivery of a large baby. Typically, the vagina and its supporting muscles and tissues, becomes stretched and torn during childbirth.  Sadly, it almost never returns to its pre-pregnancy state.

Dr. Hastetter is able to perform the specialized surgical tightening and rejuvenation of the vagina, perineum, and the supporting muscles known as vaginoplasty or vaginal rejuvenation.  Vaginoplasty surgery is done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The operation typically takes about 1 hour. Although, you can usually return to work 6 to 7 days after surgery, no tampons or constricting underwear (e.g. g-strings) may be used, nor should you have sexual intercourse for the next 6 weeks.
